GRAD TIO .... Graduation at last-to many these words have a triple signi- ficance: thoughts and dreams of a prosperous future, happy recol- lections of high school days, and a feeling of satisfaction with a goal achieved. Vifhen we recall the week before graduation, we have visions of ourselves cramming for exams, practicing for the class night play not to mention the numerous drills for graduation and Baccalaureate. In January, 1955, our program for that busy week read like this: January 14--Class night-School auditorium. January 16-Baccalaureate--School auditorium. January 21-Senior Prom-Monticello Hotel. January 22--Graduation-School auditorium. ON WITH THE SHOW-Miss Puckett, Senior Class sponsor, and Eddie Pfaehler, class president, preside over the class night exercises. A JOB WELL DONE-Lawrence Hurst, Valedictorian listens as Mr. Miller presents him with the S. A. R. good citizenship award. BACCALAUREATE SPEAKER- Mr. Malmborg, pastor of the Free- mason Street Baptist Church, gave the message to the seniors on Sun- day afternoon. CONGRATULATIONS, VIRGINIA-Virginia Miller receives her diploma and a hearty handshake fr om Principal Old at graduation exercises held in the Maury auditorium. 23
