There is no doubt in our minds that Gerald will go lar with his talents. Ruth Harrell, valedictorian ol the Ianu- ary senior class, took high honors in the tield ol science. This year Maury named Ruth most outstanding student in science and through this she was given the Bausch and Lomb award. He then went on to place second in the state con- tests. Warner, a Iunior, has truly learned the meaning ol democracy. Ralph Sumerlin. better known as Shot- gun Sumerlin because ol his outstand- ing prowess on the gridiron, is one oi Maury's best-known personalities. His success on the football team brought him honors as the city's most outstand- ing player ol the year. His graduation leaves our team lacking an excellent lullback. ff! ffffff ff S iii Last summer, Waverly Dickens attended the Boy Scout Jamboree in Austria. and later toured Italy, Paris, Naples, Sor- rento, Rome, Florence, and the lsle ol Capri. Sent by the Scouters Club, with linancial help from civic organizations.
