Theme . . . We, the editors of The Commodore of 1946, have chosen as our theme: The Spirit of Maury. Since the spirit of a school is its foundation, we feel that it is only appropriate to use this as the theme of our school annual. In this book the Spirit of Maury is reflected in the number of honor graduates, in the services the students render to the school, in the interest shovsrn in the extra-curricular activities such as the dramatic and musical productions put on during the school year for the entertainment of the student body and their parents, the high membership in the clubs and organizations, the large attendance at the athletic events, and in the fine relationships between the faculty and the students. Within the pages of this annual, we present the various aspects of our school life that, blending together, make the Spirit of Maury.
