Physical Ed. instructors Mr. Richard Andra, Jerry Brown, and Brother Jude Highberger Physical Education Department Maur Hill, new and up to date as it is, also takes ideas from men who lived long ago. For it was Plato who said that to im- prove a man's mind, start by making an athlete out of him. This is the aim of the Maur Hill Physical Education Department: to make athletes. And Mr. Andra, Mr. Brown and Brother Jude have found that moulding minds is much easier than moulding muscles and co-ordi- nation.

Social Science Department I Man's history and modes of living are studied at Maur Hill. This year the Social Studies department offered five courses; Citizenship, Sociology, World History, American Problems, and American History. The department's aim is to build better citizens through the appreciation and realization of man's duty to society. Citizenship, Sociology, and American Problems prepare the student for his future role as a citizen of the nation and of man- kind. World History and American History acquaint the student with the story of man and with his cultural background. Mr. Galley hands back Citizenship tests. Mr. Brown helps Terry Shinn with his American History notebook. Fr. Camillus watches Mike Mullins and Chris Compton put up a map in World History. Brother Jude surveys his Sociology class. 16
