- The Red With the passing of time, the life and activities of school life will soon be forgotten. The annual staff of the 1960-1961 Redside hopes that, as you glance through the pages of this year book, you will remember with pleasure the times you have had at Maupin High School. Always to remain in Maupin High School, will be the trophy case pictured above, where all the fruits of the hard fought games the boys won, will be placed. The mighty Redside mural painted on the wall in the gymnasium will remain embedded in the wall forever. As you turn from one page to another, we hope that your memories will be more than sheer happiness. Maupin, Oregon 'Dedication We, the Associated Student Body of Maupin High School, would like to dedicate this 1960-1961 Redside Annual in honor of Mrs. Clarence Fargher. Mrs. Fargher is one of the few remaining early graduates of Maupin High School that are left in the surrounding community. If! J. The Peptones furnished a skit before the crowd rushed out to the blazing bonfire located by the tennis courts. The chatter, yells, and songs spurred the crowd to greater anticipation for the game the following night. The Peptones performed their traditional In the Mood that they prepared for the half time entertainment for the game. The co-captains, with the help of their teammates, tossed the Condon dummy into the flames and then announced that Sharon Davis was to reign over the pageantry as queen with Dixie Webb and Karen Barnett as princesses. Friday night was the game. It began in the evening with the noise parade (students divide into classes and on trucks) winding through the town. The Sophomores' won! ! The game was a game to be remembered with the score 26-14 our favor. The semi-formal dance in honor of Queen Sharon and her court was held the night following the game. The theme was Lavender Blue with the court dancing to Lavender Blue after the coronation.
