At Christmas time they made lovely gifts for their parents and the Junior Red Cross, Many unusual things were studied: the activities ot tiremen, policemen, and tarmersg classes of food-why they need them and what they give usg the lite ot Robert L. Stevenson by memorizing some of his poems. The tirst year is indeed an active one. Each holiday season is welcomed with appropriate preparationsepumpkins tor Halloween, a sugar house and Christmas tree for Christmas, plus a dramatization ot Hansel and Gretel, and bunnies and baskets tor Easter, Firstfhand they learned about our tire department when they visited Fire Station number TwentysThree. The chiet showed them everything and even allowed each child to 'sit in the driver's seat ot the tire truck and blow the Slfen. They made an exciting trip to the zoo to learn about animals and on their return, they drew the animals. After they learned to read, they visited the Toledo Library for some stories by Miss Wright,
