There's nothing like a little sand in one's hair, eyes, etc., the sea breeze blowing gently, and oodles of water to play in, to make a picnic loads of fun. scenery Cut oft from the rest of the world by 'the myriads of waves which make up the blue Pacific, we here on Maui fully realize the prominent part which the sea plays in our lives. Besides providing outstanding scenery un- equalled by any part ot the globe, and afford- ing an excellent source of recreation for young and old alike, the sea is a livelihood for the many who depend upon it for a living. Our very lives depend upon the sea, it brings us rain, the magic of growth, and with- in the dark and mysterious fathoms of its briny depths, lies the power to obliterate us all from this earth. lt is because the sea has such a direct in- fluence on the way we work and play here in the islands, that we have chosen The Sea as our theme.
