The Sabers opened Their I958 lnTerscholasTic League season by beaTing Baldwin 3I-27. ATTer being handed seTbaclcs by ST. AnThony and Lahaina- luna, The Maui High cagers rebounded by Trouncing Baldwin 58-23 and upseTTing ST. AnThony 6O-47. The Sabers aTTer The ST. AnThony vicTory sTill had a good chance To win The TiTle buT deTeaTs by La- hainaluna and ST. AnThony knocked The Sabers ouT oT The running. The Maui High quinTeT won Their TourTh game by ouTscoring Baldwin 43-36. The Maui High School basl4eTball Team parTicipaT- ed in The Tri-Isle TournamenT. ln The TirsT nighT oT compeTiTion The Sabers whipped ST. AnThony 55-37 and so avenged Two previous deTeaTs. Maui Then Trounced Baldwin 65-39 in The second nighT's play and gained The righT To play in The Tinals againsT league champion Lahainaluna. The Lunas had Too much oT everyThing and The Maui quinTeT wenT down To a 60-5l deTeaT. Maui High received The runner-up Trophy and placed Two Team members on The All-STar Team.
