Some of the accomplishments of the Board of Education in recent years have been: the installation of aluminum windows in all of the high school building; the upgrading of our high school library with the purchase of several additional Encyclopedia’s and numerous books; adding a SRA reading program to the grade school, grades 2-6; purchasing additional science equipment; new band uniforms; new basketball uniforms for both boys and girls; refinishing the floors; additional cafeteria equipment; and the purchase of new buses. Also the construction of an Auto Mechanics building and the purchase of tools and equipment has made it possible to offer Auto Mechanics to the boys of our high school. The students that are enrolled in Auto Mechanics are very enthusiastic and are accomplishing a great deal from this course. This course will teach the students a skill which they may utilize at a later date to make a living. Paul Walt man, Harold Swarb, V. A. Coleman, Sally Stark, C. W. Hitchcock, Edwin Stone, and Warren Bodkin

Superintendent To compile an annual is quite a task; it consists of many hours of planning by the annual sponsor and staff and the cooperation of the student body and faculty. The goal and objectives of the annual is to give the reader an open picture of the activities of the Maud School System. The Annual Staff has done a magnificent job of giving the public a record of all the important activities that have taken place during the 1967-68 school year. The Annual Staff is to be commended for all the energies and efforts they put forth to make a grand success of this annual. The student body should purchase one of these annuals for future reference and enjoyment. When the years come and go, they can look back at this book and it will bring pleasant memories of the activities that they were privileged to be part of in Maud High School. V. A. Coleman The Foundation of any sound educational institution is cemented with the proposition that ‘Academic Growth’ is the primary goal of education. The degree to which the school accomplishes it’s goal depends upon the excellence of our Faculty, the quality of the Student Body, the scope of the curriculum and the adequacy of the physical plant. The enabling factor of our school goal attainment is the quality of the stu- dent body. You, as a student and as an individual, will set your own goals in life as dictated by your ambitions and your abilities. As you strive to attain your goals and find that the road to success is not easy; remember- that education is in itself a wide and heavily traveled pathway. There are many forks in this pathway each leading to some goal set by those who are traveling upon it. Just as some roads are unpaved, so are some pathways to success unpaved. There are many rough and threat- ening sections. However, if the goal is kept in view, all difficulties can be surmounted, and the pathway will have served its purpose of furnishing a means of guid- ance. Jon R. Edwards. Principal
