Students 1953 As a man thinketh in his heart so is he My aim and purpose while here has not been to train some for leadership, some as followers, nor to follow a strict routine of democracy; it has been to train for leadership and service for all as ability and occasion permitted, toward a broad functional belief and practice of democracy instead of a limited, formal concept. The completion of this annual by the Student Council I think, is as good an example of what I mean as I could find. The entire student body has co-operated with us in a democratic way to make this year’s annual a successful venture. I wish to congratulate you each and every one and to thank you not only for your work, help and co-operation on this one project; but for your many contributions in making our school a successful school during my tenure at Maud. I extend to each and every one of you my best wishes and my prayers are that you will live happy, wholesome, and useful lives. Yours truly Albert V. Horn Superintendent
