We, the staff, believe it is fitting that the 1952 TIGER be dedicated to the Student Council, an organization just getting under way this year. The Student Council was organized under the guidance of Mr. Horn. In October, each class in Junior High and Senior High School and each organization selected a representative for the con- stitutional convention. These representatives were very faithful in their work. They spent much of their spare time studying sample constitutions of other councils and writing the constitution for our school. These representatives were: Janette Acree, Stanley Acree, Viola Baker, Jimmy Barnes, Betty Lou Collins, Wilbur Glasgow. Frankie Snelson, and Ted Thorn. In January, the representatives presented the completed constitution of the Student Council to the student body for their approval. The student body accepted the constitution by an overwhelming majority. After the acceptance of the constitution, each Senior High class elected two senators, each Junior High class and organization elected one senator for the Council. JamesDeLonais was elected President of the Student Council. The election of the other officers is not complete as yet. Members of this, the first, Student Council are : Jimmy Barnes, Johnita Barnet, Charles Biggs. Warren Bodkin, Rosemary Bohannon. James Delonais. Marian Franklin, Wilbur Glasgow. Merle Harris, Joe Lawson. Sue Noland, Laverne Palmer, Darrell Raper, Frankie Snelson, Jimmy Sublett, Charles Villines, and Sue Warren. We, as members of the student body, expect many good things from the Student Council and be- lieve the Council will bring about a more united student body, one that will accomplish things. THE STAFF
