As I glanced at the shelves In the city library, my eye was attracted by a thin red volume. Taking itdown, I saw the title was Who's Who and Why in Maud. Eagerly I turned the pages and read the pre- face. I'll omit the dates of birth and names of the relatives to save space. WILBUR GLASGOW, a famous inventor, has really blessed humanity with his Restwell Mattress for oysters and exercises for reducing one's income taxes. KENNETH GOBERhas his own taxi service and it's the most famous one known. He has only lady taxi drivers. His motto is All for one and that one is me. LA WANDA FINNEGAN is happy at last. She is now divorcing her fourth husband in order to marry the fifth one. BETTY JONES, who was always interested in basketball, has her own team now. She is the mother of six girls. JAMES McCRAW now owns his own used car lot. This is a step up because he was selling bicycles this time last year. CLINTON and LA VERNE PALMER have a brother - sister act in a carnival. We now believe in miracles because they are listed as Siamese Twins. DONALD PETERS is another visitor at Norman. His habit of winking at the girls turned out worse than we expected. ARLEY POPE is now a great writer. His lastest novel was How To Be a Service Station Anendam. DOROTHY ASKEY is now in China working as a foreign missionary. She seems happy. JOHNTTA BARNES, who's great desire was to wear a white uniform, has at last fulfilled her dreams. Norman's institution issues them to all patients.
