Text from Pages 1 - 168 of the 1983 volume:

Journeying on high, the silken castle glides Bright as a meteor through the azure tides Silent, with upturned eyes, unbreathing crowds Pursue the floating wonder to the clouds The calm philosopher in ether sails Views broader stars, and breathes in purer gales Erasmus Darwin's 1789 poem, Mattituck's graduating seniors have a broad and undimmed view of the world. As time increases, experience and ability may grow, but never will the thrill of opportunity and anticipation be as great. To all departing seniors, we wish you the greatest of luck and success. DEDICATION With the greatest care and admiration, we the class of 1983 gratefully dedicate our yearbook to a truly deserving person. He is an understand- ing friend with a great sense of humor who not only makes suggestions but carries them through. Besides what he has done for our class as a whole, he has done just as much, if not more, for the individual. He has taught us about life. Through him we have learned that success is not measured by money or power but happiness, which he shares with all. Thank you, Mr. James Christy. 4 BOARD OF EDUCATION Walter Dohm President Wesley Simchick Vice President Thomas Roslak District Clerk Vincent Bialeski Robert Graeb Donald Langan William Ruland Genevieve Woessner William Ellwood flss’t H.S.
