WE DEDICATE: Of all the people we grow to care for in our high school career, this person will always be special to us as a warm friend, a demanding and innovative teacher, and an energetic supporter of student ef- forts. She knows and practices the art of teaching. She laughs with us, listens, understands us and speaks her mind to us. She makes extra time in her busy day for stu- dents, whether to give advice on colleges, or to put more pep into a pep rally. No one embodies Tuck- er spirit more than she, you always know she has been at a game by the confetti trail and noisema- kers. As they said of Susan B. Anthony, “men tell her she's out of her proper sphere ... but if one-half of her sex possessed half of her intellectual culture, her self-reliance and independence of character, the world would be better for it. It is to someone who will always have “ad- vanced placement in our hearts that we gratefully dedicate the 1980 Reflector: Joyce O. Grattan.
