Tn grammer school it was the seventh grades Since we had passed that mark we all set out for another goal, graduatlonr .The subjects we were offered were English, Agriculture, Civics, Mathematics, General Science, and Home ECODOMLCSW . Kll ough, Mlss Kornegaye an' Mrr TEWQ Blvens. l In the fall of nineteen forty four we were entering our sophomore yearrijur faculty ' had changedt Nhss Kornegay was replaced by'NMss Ethel Nuller Boydr Thls year we added to 1 our roll Frances Austin from Waxhaw, NACA ' Our outstanding featyres of the year were the Halloween Carnlval and several parties, A Since our class was the flrst to he graduated ln the twelfth grade, we had to sponsor the ggnlorssenior Banquet in our sophomore year, This meant we would have to ralse money, , . r class sponsored the Halloween Carnival which was very successfulr ' ' we had our banquet in the hlgh school gymnasium, it was decorated to resemble the deck of a shlp, After alla the senlors were shlpplng out, except for Shannon Forbs who fell over boardt He was below sea level due to belng absent the first half of the yearn A Now we had become juniors, By this tlme we were all strlvlng toward the same goal to the best of our ablllty.,.that goal belng to become senlors, Qure faculty changed again- We now received Overton to replace Mn Blvens who decided lt was much slmp er to make a llvlngky drrvlng a bus than by teachlng AgflCUlCuFCy fThls year the athletic club sponsored the Habween Carnival V wr. e b t we had several parties at the homes of different classmatesr Seniors at last!
