Advisor: Mr. Alexander Who says they never thought their senior year would ever come? It sure wasn't the Class of 1986. We followed the old adage, Time Flies When You're Having Fun. As we approach graduation we look hack and realize that the past few years have been a challenge for each of us. There have been many great times along with some rough ones, but we always managed to make things work. We will share the memories of our days at Mattawan with happiness and pride. Best wishes to each member of the Class of 1986. Presiden t: Barbara Dufficld Vice President: Keri Witman 18 Secretary: Tiffany Shafer Treasurer: Sandy Snyder Trustee: Sheri Gaines

Class Of 1986 This is the end of the beginning An era of time has come and gone We all grew up together Experienced pain and joy Happiness and sorrow Frustrations and victories We were all as one Laughing as we marched on to face life We had friendship, we had each other What more could we have desired? For four years we were a family Thrown together by fate or destiny Or was it all just blind luck We ate toether, we breathed together As a single body We enjoyed our victories Whether they were individual or mass We grieved at our defeats Whether we fell as one or as a group We strove forward bravely With our friends and security Right behind us to push us on And catch us if we stumbled But on a nearing horizon comes the day When the end of the beginning will be here Can you hear the bells tolling Daring you to step forward and claim your future When graduation comes We will be together one last time This is the portal through which we must pass Alone At the doorway we will leave behind The constant support of our friends Their presence will still be felt And our memories will linger on Their absence will be mourned over During this time of letting go Some of us will grow stronger together And develop bonds for a lifetime But we must all realize That each of us will be following A different personal path . . . On the other side of the door Who knows what the future holds Or where it will lead us? We will brave the unknown. — Bret VanDuine CLASS MOTTO: Nothing is at last sacred CLASS COLORS: But the integrity of your own Navy B]ue GoIcl mind . . . So we will walk on our own feet., CLASS FLOWER: we will work with our own Red Rose hands, and we will speak with our own minds. Ralph Waldo Emerson 20
