Left to right: Kathy Gano. John Bowman. Pete Dehaan. and Aurora Gonzales. Back row: Mr. Williams. Dan Lowe, and Mrs. Loedeman. In the summer of 72 we began our high school years. Our class consisted of 134 students. We attended dances and any sports activities we could get into. We were strangers to the upperclassmen, brats to the teachers, and friends to anyone in the freshman class. Sophomore year we bacame more familiar with upperclassmen around us. We felt more at ease as we went to the many functions of the school like dances, plays, concerts, and sports activities. We were looking forward to our Junior year where we would be breaking the magazine sale and planning the Junior-Senior Prom. Our Junior year finally arrived. The Junior-Senior Prom was a great success, thanks to Mrs. Pfister and members of the class. The theme was Oriental, and the decorations were made by the class spending long hours after school. By working together our relationships became much stronger, not only as teacher towards student but friend towards friend. During this year we organized a dance honoring Lynn Zelechowski. a fellow classmate who left Mattawan to continue her education in San Diego. California. We all miss her and hope she’s happy. As Seniors we organized a birthday party for Oyvind Arnessen. an exchange student from Norway. He’s made many new friends and seems to enjoy every minute here in America. On the same night we planned a going away party for Bonnie Yates, a good friend who’s been with us a long time, and had to move to Illinois. We hope to see her someday and hope memories of the good times won’t fade. So this is our last chance to say farewell. Thanks to the teachers, parents, and many friends who have helped us along the way. We leave you with gratitude, and pride. We walk with respect to wherever we’re headed. Graduation: Our last glance at MHS. but ‘‘We’ve just begun”. Never Goodbye. Class of 76 12
