SENIOR OFFICERS AND CLASS HISTORY L. to R. Pam Harwood. Debbie Damaske, Francis Culbertson. Donna Davis We began our Freshman year in the fall of 1970. High school was a new experience for all of us. including Mr. Richards, the new principal. We elected officers: Randy Hoyt president. Donna Davis secretary, and Debbie Damaske treasurer. Our advisor was Mrs. Kingdom Our homecoming float was a Tide Box. Our class sponsored Twerp Week. We had a dance and a lot of fun. During the year, Mark Nutter joined our class. During our sophomore year, we did not elect class officers. We had a Humpty Dumpty float for homecoming. It came in fourth place. At the end of the the year we picked out our class rings. Throughout the year, eight people joined our class: Dory Borland, Steve Gorton, Mike Howay, Cindy julien, Lynn Kelly, Kathy Kronke. Margie Marks, and Brad Smith. Our Junior year started in the fall of 1972. This year we had a new principal. Mr. Erhardt. On September 20. we received our class rings. We sold magazines and set a record high. We elected Francis Culbertson president, Colleen Korteway vice president, Pam Harwood secretary, and Debbie Damaske trea- surer. Our float was a Roaring 20’s Bank Robbery. It came in third place. Our class sponsored a bowling night for the 1973 Seniors. It was really a lot of fun for everyone. During the year Scott Boven, Eldon Fay. Denise Harris, Tom Kobreek, Cheri Lowe, Ron Shuster. Sue Sweet, and Dian Triestram came to Matta-wan. Our Senior year began September 5, 1974. This year we had a Senior Council: Francis Culbertson president, Donna Davis vice president, Pam Harwood secretary, and Debbie Damaske treasurer. Diane Arnold, Kathy Schroeder, Margie Marks, and Lynn Kelly were homeroom representatives. Our float was a giant banana. It came in second place. Our class came in first place for spirit week. After several elections. Blue and Gold became our class colors. Our motto is, “Life is not something to take for granted, it is to be lived to the fullest. Written by Linda Bolden. Graduation day was set for Saturday, June 8, 1974 in the evening. Sabine Bork, Joy Herson, Sally Owens, and Brian Wait joined our class this year.
