From all over lower Michigan came the many representatives of the SPIRITMAKERS OF AMERICA. WMU's cheerleaders taught the girls cheers, mounts, pompon routines, and mini-tramp stunts. A luncheon was served in the cafeteria. Awards were given for first, second, third, fourth places, and honorable mention in competition. During show-time skits and special cheers were presented. A lot of work went into this clinic and much improvement was gained from it. 58 Top Row: Larry Johnson, Frank Loedeman, Mike Stafford, Jeff Brown, Bob Bogema, Harry Nutter, Walt Gail, and John Mabbott. OCTOBER 7, 1966 HMi A DAY TO f R i a -.X . - 1 E M i E M i ft « B « E R All was glorious and exciting. The crowd, band, and cheerleaders cheered enthusiastically. We're with ya team, We're with ya team, so fight, fight, fight! is a good example of our cheerleaders' enthusiasm. The squads, both Varsity and Reserve, practiced and planned together to arouse student spirit at both pep assemblies and at games. With lots of help from our faithful Willie, Judy Carnes, the job was well done. The varsity cheerleaders went to camp last summer and won second place and honorable mention ribbons in tough competition. The candy sales during the year is to be used to, hopefully, send both the Varsity and Reserve squads to camp this summer. The J. V. 's have learned a lot and helped tremendously. These 11 girls were worthy representatives of true WILDCAT spirit.
