7n Tile mori am Tit wood Howard IKoore Oecficat on r i-. My dear Mr. McKeil, We the class of 1964 dedicate this edition to you. Although you have left this school, your influence is still felt for the stu- dents and faculty alike. It was no small loss and yet admittedly we feel a satisfaction in seeing the abilities of our friend being developed in your new post. As a gesture of thanks and respect, we dedicate this yearbook to you, hoping that it will serve as a tangible symbol of memo- ries which we are all sure will go with you to your new position of increased responsibility. Yours sincerely. The Class of 1964 ADMINISTRATION FIRST ROW: D. Doughty, J. Pressley, R. McElroy, W. Worden, S. Day, C. Neal. SECOND ROW: D. Curry, W. Fletcher, W. Merritt, P. Hinton, H. Squad finished the 1963 season with an impressive record of 10 wins against 1 loss. Each year the baseball team has turned in a more impressive record than the year before and this year was certainly no exception. M. A. Football team showed some improvement this year in the newly formed Little Ten Conference. Under the coaching of Coaches Curry, Fletcher, and Zagoriana- kas, the team compiled a record of 2 and 5, which didn't show their fine improvement. A big hard-hitting line and a hustling backfield made the difference. Next year's team should be well balanced as the entire backfield will be back and several big, hustling linemen will be back. The team loses six Seniors this year in the persons of Terry Phinney, Guy Hillman, Tri-Captains: Doug Hurd, Dave Edgecomb, and Jeff Gifford, all linemen; and reserve back, Ron Hanley. KNEELING: D. Stevens, L. Bowers, P. Leen, C. Stevens. STANDING: C. Joy, E. McLoughlin, E. Bennett, W. Osgood, D. Bates. B The Lynx got off to a bad start this season and had to push up hill from there on out. The team was hampered by poor defense and lack of experience. Next year should be more promising for Coach Fletcher as all but one of his players will be back. This years team consisted of one senior, eight juniors, and three sopho- mores. Individual scoring was led by Bob Bowker with 313 points, Leo Madore with 195 and Mike McCormick with 176. The team was strong on rebounds with Terry Phinney and Alan Lane grabbing the majority. Varsity Basketball 1963-64 MA Opponent 48 at A. C. They had a successful season coming up with more wins than losses. The team was well coached under the leadership of Peter Webb. Stan Bowker led the team in rebounding, while Mike Carney and Scott Jordan con- tributed a good share of baskets. Mike Carney, Stan Bowker, and Edgar Murchison dominated the team's rebounding. However, the boys competed in the Eastern Class B meet held at Rangely and did well considering the fact that they had had no practice. The team placed third behind MCI of Pittsfield and PCHS of Guilford. The prospects for next year are good as only two members will be lost by graduation. Doug Hurd, a strong four event man, apd Dave Edgecomb will be graduated In June; but the team will have depth and balance as promising juniors Lee Cunningham, Giff Brown, and Jerry Butterfield develop.
