Fall Raking leaves is Fall Fun--es¬ pecially when Debbie, Ed. , Margaret, Ro¬ chelle and Dickie join in. The here we go again atmosphere of Fall at M.H.S. is emphasized by the every day activities that never seem to change at all. It seems we fall right into line just as the summer has not been at all. If the day is sunny, students gather outside to enjoy the full sunshine. Fall days are days when you are a little shy--afraid of making a mistake like dropping your books--everyone feels, in a way, that it is still last year, but it ' s no one’s last year in September, except in a way, Senior’s.

The Office And The Guiding Hands Ready for the day ' s dictation--Very very efficient school secretary, Mrs. Robert H. Callis and the current boss, Mr. H. N. Clements, Principal. Mr. E. F. Hudgins, Jr. This year we have had two Bosses . Mr. Hudgins served in this capacity until mid-term in Jan¬ uary, when he left for the business field. Mr. Hudgins was vitally in¬ terested in each student at Mathews High School. Mr. Clements, before assuming the duties of the front office, taught Agriculture at Mathews High School. Greatly respected by both teachers and students, he served the school most effectively.
