We are grateful to family, friends, and certainly to the faculty. We are grateful to the administration that has made all this possible. We will always remember the Blizzard of ' 66, when we got an unexpected vacation of seven days. We didn ' t know it then, but that was our Spring Vacation. Aside from this, we had a wonderful winter season. We really did hit the books and we grew in knowledge and stature. It was during this season that we started two hour classes. They proved successful and rewarding. Life was good and winter became a wonderful memory. 33 M. H. S The yuletide season brings a spirit of fellowship and gaiety to M.H.S. and Christ¬ mas 1965 was certainly no exception. The season was highlighted by a play presented by the Senior class. The CHRISTMAS PAGEANT OF THE HOLY GRAIL told of King Arthur ' s vision of the nativity of Christ, of the Holy Grail pre¬ sented to the babe by the Magi, and of Arthur ' s great desire --to win back the Holy Grail for Christ. Excerpts from this inspiring presen¬ tation are shown here. Above: Music for this festive season was very capably rendered by our organist, Bucky Cooke. For some it is only a pause or a vacation until a school bell” will call them back in the fall. For others, it is the end for school as they have known it for twelve years. All will continue to learn for life and living is a process of learning. Looking back over the school year with its ups and downs, its joys and a few sor¬ rows, with many facts learned and some slipped over, we think on the whole it has been good. Especially for Seniors it has been most memorable. This book will be cherished throughout our lives because it is a record of this wonderful year. We can always look back with pride and affection. We will even show this book to our children and perhaps our grandchildren -- So a year ends and we 66 in 1966, along with the rest, step out into the warm June sunshine and into a new world. 76 Mathews high school LIBRARY MATHEWS HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY high ccHOOL UBRft R MATHEWS HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY
