RICHARD MADIGAN Guard Dick has been a regular defensive line man for the past three seasons of Mustang ball. During his senior year, he played as a regular with the offensive unit. KEITH PANGBORN Halfback Pang , a fleet footed scatoack, was a prominent figure in the Mustang's ground game during the '56 campaign. RICHARD STEINHOFF Halfback Offensive Captain Dick has played three years as a regular on the Mu stang squad. During his sophomore and Junior years he played mostly de- fense. In his senior year he changed to the position of left half. Dick will long be remembered by his team mates for his fine leader- ship on the Mustang grid- iron. IAMES CAMPBELL Fullback Top Scorer lim , as a member ofthe back field, climaxed two years of football by re- ceiving honorable mention on the all- U. P. team, and was selected to be on the Great Lakes Conference first team. THOMAS PELDHUSEN Tackle Defensive Captain Tom was a predominant figure in the Mustang plans for three seasons. He was recognized for his fine play during his past season by being selected to be on the Great Lakes Conference squad, and received honor- able mention on the all- U. P. team. At the end of a somewhat unbalanced but hard fought football season, the Munising Stangs found themselves face to face with a 5 lost 3 win record for 1956. 'When they first began making the dirt fly on the gridiron the varsity had ll lettermen returning from the previous year. Although they didn't end up on the top wrung of the ladder they all deserve full credit for their get up and go . V.s hit the autumn dirt hard and came through the line for the cleanest athletic record of the year: 8 losses and 0 wins. The boys were a large and hardworking crew but were a bit green due to the high percentage of Freshmen who had little experience. The large turnout indicated interest in the sport and representing the school. Many of the sturdy chaps are expected back next season to kick the pigskin with all and more of 57's vim'n vigor and chalk up some wins. ,n si: sv V W Q M 3 44 x, 3 5 ff NN-2 'A' f- ,, ,... , L ,. .
