Memories of friends are ours to keep and their work is ours to finish. We are always asking for reasons and wondering why the sun must sometimes be covered with clouds, why colorful autumn leaves must fall and die. In all his works and play he ran And grew into a fine young man. Years shall pass with many a tear Wishing if only he could be here. Our children are our greatest pleasure, They are by far our only treasure. Now as we go on our way And live our lives from day to day, One thing so greatly subdues our joy— The Loss of Our Darling Boy.
