What’s New? New and Improved Partytime ‘89— It’s Matawan Regional High School, but it’s Matawan with a new look. Students streamed into the school, de- lighted by all they saw around them. Walking through the halls, they could feel Matawan’s spirit. During the summer vaca- tion, students became in- volved in a project to boost Matawan’s pride. Initiated by Student Council Presi- dent, Scott Lampert, the north, west, and part of the south hallways were painted maroon and grey. Murals of the Matawan Huskie, the school emblem, and the Se- nior sign were added to brighten up the hallways. In addition, Matawan wel- comed a new principal, Mr. Roger Tuccillo. Among the new policies installed under him was the 40 minute lunch period where the students were able to sit down and have a leisurely lunch. As a result of the new roof, there was no longer a need to bring an umbrella to the library if you came to do research. The newly in- stalled maroon and grey car- peting brought in the Huskie spirit. These changes have helped to raise student’s spirit and enthusiasm for the school. They have definitely been an improvement for Matawan Regional.
