FOREWORD The dictionary tells us that a student is not only one who is enrolled for study at a school, but also a person who studies or investigates. Moreover, we are told that a school is a place or institution for teach- ing and learning. Mix the teaching, the learning, and the student in proper proportions and something called “education” takes place. Education is at once a process and a result. By the time we become graduating seniors we are able to assess what we have become. The 1965 Pillar staff has tried in this yearbook to reflect what we are together with a timely representation of how we have developed in useful knowledge and responsible citizenship. • t,
