TO THE CLASS OF 1962: All life, all matter is interrelated. It is wondrous indeed to contemplate our universe, an intricate ‘mosaic’ of atoms and molecules. A high school program can similarly be interpreted as a mosaic. Vet the most essential ingredient in all schools is still a mystery in composition and process. It is spirit warm, friendly, and fraternal, which lies all together into a distinguishable whole and provides the vitality and drive which make meaningful and distinctive the life vou live at Matawan Regional High. Luther A. Foster Superintendent of Schools Pictured above is our first high school, now the grammar school used from 1895-1922. The other building, the high school now in use, was occupied by high school students from 1923-1962. To many people Matawan High School is just brick and cement, but to the students, it re- presents a place of learning to which many alumni owe their jobs and their futures. Soon another of the many graduating classes will leave the school; its members headed for diverse goals. The old school on broad Street has be- come aged and will he replaced by a nt w school on Atlantic Avenue. 6
