Text from Pages 1 - 86 of the 1958 volume:

foreword T' t° To all graduates, their Senior Prom, their class rings, and their senior pictures are the glorious features of their linal, fleeting moments in high school—moments whose memories will accompany them to adulthood and remain with them until seen indelibly written in the Book of Life. So, at Matawan. the year 1958 will mark the end of four years of precious memories'—fond memories of joy and sadness, of triumph and defeat, of problems and the solutions we found no- where so surely as with our teachers. But. as a lighthouse beam penetrates the shadow of night, one bright light shines through the memories the years have brought. It is the wisdom of the teachers of Matawan that has rounded out four years of sludv for us. It is. then, with deepest gratitude, that we present in our yearbook a record of the jieople and events that we would like to remember. I When recounting the advancement made in Matawan High School during the past half century, mention must be made of a former student. Under the inspired leadership and enlightening advice of Mr. Frank I lovvard Lloyd, Sr., our class has been well guided. It is. then, with sinccrest gratitude and profound es- teem that we, the class of 1958, dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Frank I loward Lloyd, Sr. At this time I wish to join your legion of friends in wishing you a long and successful career. The laws of character are as interdependent as the laws of science. Throughout the years the faculty and 1 have observed your conformity to these laws.
