Remember when ... we ate our lunch in the telephone booths of the United Nations Building during our freshman class trip? Remember when ... we had our holiday dances in the gymnasium of Monroe School? Remember when ... we went to Washington, D.C., for two days when we were in the ninth grade? Our long bus ride started out with a bang and gradually everyone fell asleep. We went on a whirlwind tour of Washington that resulted in many laughs, blisters, tired feet, and happy memories. Remember when ... we practiced many hours getting ready for our freshman graduation? We mechanically went through the ceremony looking forward to our high school years. At the party afterward, we gave Mr. Garrity his present — 100 pounds of dog food. Remember when ... we were sophomores and had our last when ... ? period dances in the cafeteria? Remember when ... we went to Lake Quassapaug for our sophomore class trip? No one can forget that cold, windy day we went swimming and then burned marshmallows. Remember when . . . after waiting two years we moved to Masuk High? The following weeks were spent in mass con- fusion and hysteria as we tried to settle down to the new routine. Remember when ... we saw the future cheerleaders limp- ing down the halls? Remember when ... we played our first basketball game as a high school and got hoarse from yelling? Remember when ... we had a fun-filled day decorating the cafeteria for our Junior Prom? Remember when ... we had our junior swimming party at Paul Chase’s house? Remember when ... we became the first graduating class of Masuk High School? yearbook First Row, L. to R., Mark Jesuroga, co- editor; Mr. Duncan, advisor; Judy Gus- taitis, editor.
