THE STUDENT COUNCIL The junior high school organized the Student Council at the beginning of the year. There are two representatives from each o: the ninth and tenth grade rooms, and one representative from eac seventh and eighth grade room0 The purpose of the Student Council is to better the interes of the school, to establish mutual understanding between the faculty and the students, to help establish social activities in the school, and to promote school spirit. Some of the accomplishments of the Council ares work on th Teenage Code, and an Athletic Association with a grievance com- mittee for the varsity, A constitution was also drawn up. They have also conducted social activities in the school. CLUBS (continued) MUSIC CLUB Teacher - Mrs. Frangenes Purpose - To appreciate remt- lassical and popular music through singing and through participation in the form of an operetta. Some of the recreation taught is basketball and wrestling,. SCIENCE CLUB teacher Purpose Mr, Korcsmaros To increase scientific curiosity. Some of the projects were constructing a small crystal radio, making miccroscopic slides, making working models for classroom use, such as barom- eters, hot water heating system, and digestive system. YEARBOOK Moderator - Mr. Slais Purpose - The organization and publication of the ninth grade yearbook. This includes gathering and typing information on students and school events.
