 BASEBALL Monroe Baseball team: Bill Ainley, Bill Thomas, Tom DeLuca - Outfielders Bob nurd, (Capt.) Dave Brown, Bob Kusante, Dick Girgasky - Infielders Bob Girgasky - Pitcher George Mengold - Catcher Steve Kenney and Ira Loss - Managers Subs: Svensson, McKinney, Tompkins, Baker, Maginnis, Komar, Krolides and Giroux Monroe 7 - Easton 0 On April 25 Monroe beat Easton 7 to 0, with Bob Girgasky strik- ing out 18 Easton batsmen for a new Jr, lligh School record. Bill Thomas triple was the hitting high light. Infielders, led by Capt. Brown, played good ball, Samuel Johnson 2 - Nonroe 1 May 13 proved to be unlucky for Monroe as they lost to Samuel Johnson 2 to 1 in extra innings. Bob Girgasky had two base hits and drive in one run. The infield pulled off a double play Monroe 3 - Wooster 0 May 16 Monroe got back on the band wagon by beating Wooster 3 to 0. Bob Girgasky hit a home run with Kusante and Thomas on base. Monroe 14 - Weston 0 May 22 Bob Girgasky pitched a no-hitter against Weston. Final score Monroe 14, Weston 0. Monroe 9 - Wooster 0 Bob Kusante made his debut as a pitcher. Bob Girgasky (HR), Bill Ainley, Dave Brown and George Mengold hit for extra bases.
