November 20, 1956 Place - Monroe School Destination - United Nations, New York City From 8:00 a„as to 8:15 a.ra the ninth grade was arriving at school with their eyes half open. We got aboard the school bus left for the B ridgeport Railroad Station. Our train was to arrive at 8:59. We got on the train. At last we were on our way. 10:45 we arrived in New York. Now comes the walking. It wasn’t a slow walk by any means. Then we finally arrived at the United Nations. The first place we went to was the General Assembly, After we left there we went to eat. The telephone booths were packed with Monroe Junior High Students, The millionaires ate in the restaurant. After that fast meal we started the tour. Everything went smooth except for one kicked over ash tray in the lobby of the Secretarial Building. V.Te went back to the Grand Central Station about 1:45. Our train was to arrive at 3:00 pcm. So to pass the time away we went to the movies in Grand Central. At three o’clock we got on the train. The man that must own Fort Knox by now was selling orange drink and ice cream. At 5:00 p.m. we got in at B ridgeport and started on the short but long ride home. It wasn't a quiet ride but lots of fun. be arrived back at school tired and broke.
