ELIZABETH BROOKE COCHRAN Headmistress Dear Seniors: Now that it is over, cloesnit it seem to have been all too short? Yes, your time at Dobbs has been a short part of your life as a whole, but it will live as long as forever, in your memory. Isn't it a good lesson to all of us that in the Dobbs springtime the winter seasons of difficulty or struggle or discouragement all seem to have dissipated themselves into a kaleidoscope of experiences adding up to a happy ending? The damp weather of january seeped into the ground to make the cheery month of April, and the gloom of February gave way to the beautiful mornings in May and the winds of March have blown us straight into June and commencement. When you leave us we are of course very sad, as we've become used to your being in and out of First House and Estherwood and Masters Hall. You cannot, however, leave behind you the standards which you've developed since being here, and which we hope will speed you on your way, regardless of the role you will play in later life. Remember us and come back to see us. Think on the words you've so often sung in Cleveland Hall, I would be true . . . and also remember the last part of the hymn which says that you will love and laugh and liftf' You have left the school a great gift. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to watch you learn to evaluate, and we shall depend on your sense of values for the future.
