Whether you plan to go into industry, business, or on to higher education, you will, no doubt, pause to reflect upon how well you have prepared yourself for the future. Thoreau once said, Only that day dawns to which we are awake. His meaning has been clear to most of you, for your days at Mastbaum have had this goal in view. May you, the graduating class of 1960, be ever alert to make the most of your opportunities. Edmund H. Thomson Special thanks to Mr. Thomson for his guidance throughout our high school years. z 5

During this year, as in past years, the counselors have taken care of the many problems brought to their attention by the students. Most problems dealt with by the counselors concern health and education. The latter have been brought about by the increased interest in higher edu- cation on the part of the students. Mrs. Whitney, Mr. Storm, and Mr. Hymes are always willing to lend their assistance, in any way possible, to help an individual cope with his particular problems. COUNSELCRS MR. PHILIP HYMES Chairman: College Guid- ance Program. MR. HENRY C. STORM Chairman: Military Serv- ices. MRS. LENA B. WHITNEY Chairman: White Williams Foundation Scholarship: Brith Sholom Citizenship Awards.
