IOHN R. IBACI-I President Your greatest challenge to- day is to preserve the Ameri- can Way of life against external forces , which thrive on the ignorance of the masses. The educational system in the United States recognizes the worth of the inclividualg his right to think, feel and speak as he likesg to achieve what he can by his own initiative and responsibility. Each of you has received this type of education and should assume a personal res- ponsibility in preserving these truly American principles. '-,:.-4' we Mara! of glclucafion Thomas I.. WILSON Superintendent of Massena Public Schools The Class of 1951 graduates at the middle point of the Twentieth Century. The first half of this century has been one of world trouble and turmoil. We face the next half with the hope and prayer that peace and pro- gress will be forthcoming. You young people, as gra- duates, are now becoming world citizens and in that role may be called on to assume great responsibili- ties in the attainment of our goals. Good luck. MR. WILLIAM L. DWYER Principal of Massena Iunior-Senior High School Education is a continuing process from the cradle to the grave. Commencement exercises are the begin- ning of a new educational experience. May the four years spent at Massena High School be firm stepping stones to an abundant, successful and happy future educational experience. May success be yours be- cause you have always loolced for the best in others and given the best you had. May happiness crown your future years because of unswerving faith and loyalty to the true concepts of your God and your fellowman. MISS DOROTHY I. HALL Vice-Principal of Massena Iunior-Senior High School Never in the history of the school have we sent a group of students into a more chaotic world. We have attempted to meet this situation by providing you with resources that will stand you in good stead when needed. lf we have succeeded even in a small way in meeting this objective, we have given you the best possible preparation for whatever lies ahead of you. Led by Co-captains Doug Eamon and Ed Fitzpatrick they not only won the championship but went through an undefeated season. This high- scoring eleven defeated Tupper Lake for the first time in three years. The defense re- flected the strength of the team as well as the offense-the Raider goal line was cross- ed only once. As the season progressed the Red Raiders de- veloped into a well balanced squad. During the first half of the season the team dropped only two games. The opening game was lost to Potsdam by one point in an overtime, and the Raiders dropped the other to the veteran O.F.A. quintet. The basketball team proved to be a typical M.H.S. squad when it pulled the un- expected at Tupper Lake and handed this SCHEDULE team its first defeat.
