He received his training at Camp Swift, Texas, Fort Leonard Wlood, MISS4llIflQ Camp San Luis Obispo, Cali- forniag and Camp George Meade, Maryland. He participated in the campaigns of Northern France, the Rhine River, Central Europe, the Ardennes. He was wounded twice, once on December ll, 1944 and again on March 21, 1945. At the time lie received his discharge November 4, 1945, he was a sergeant in the 134th Infantry Division of the United States Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the ETO Ribbon, the Good Con- duct Medal, American Defense Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, and the Combat Badge.
