CONWAY There is a wholeness in a man like John Conway that makes the observer understand how the ho1y was derived from whole, After twenty years as a dedicated and competent professor of modern languages and European literature at Boston College, John came to Massasoit to serve. And he has served in such a total--such a whole-way that a collage of him in many but unified ways is pressed on our minds: the first to come and the last to leave at a college prayer service for a colleague's brother, the first to come in each morning to scour out the old faculty coffee pot and set it to perking so that other faculty might have a first cup before class. We see john meticulous in his preparation for classes and in his record-keeping, yet always ready to help a student with a problem or to be a gi-andfather : If you go skiing this vaction, don't break a leg, or Be careful driving. His thoughtfulness canvassed much ground, he set the tradition of fresh donuts on Language Arts Examination day and often warmed snowy or bleak days with a confection from Mrs. Conway's kitchen, his congratulatory notes to colleagues, ohalked on blackborads or placed on bulletin boards--open punning--were works of art. And in the illness that consumed the large part of his past year, his nobility taught us the triviality of much that we find it hurnan to complain about. We are indeed the more Whole because we have prayed and taught and shared with this man. 2 -1 ' VI ,un-I PA xxx win. i ,gpm Bm l N1 mummy fgss 5' W .Ugg I is lg 1 Q , L, fy V MM!
