Varsity Cheerleaders Back Row L to R Patty Gibbons Lorraine Doyle Iane Forte. Second Row L to R: Blair Castellvi, Co captain Eileen Clancy Bobb1Walz Barbara Blair Third ROWL to R: Ioan Metzler, Kim Colon- The goal of a cheerleader is to awaken the enthusiasm of the onlooker. Long hours of prac- tice, and hard work make this all possible. It is their enthusiasm that encourages crowd participa- tion and heightens the school spirit. In spite of sore throats or aching muscles these girls show spirit. The cheerleader keeps on cheering in hot or cold weather sometimes in spite of a losing team. -. jfpaf . -9-1--4:'E - ', - f 1 'V fit -air, 2 - . . :aff ff- . 4259 J t, , awe A . 'YQ 'L' LYNN AZZARO The maturity of a person can, in part, be measured by what he knows of himself. Here again, sport is an invaluable contributor. Through the men- tal and physical applications that constitute sport our limita- tions as well as our capabilities can be learned. But the value of this recognition comes in learn- ing to work to one's highest potentialg within those limita- tions and up to those capabili- ties. Sport not only provides the opportunity to discover what one can do, but also makes available the chance to do it. So, there is my reason for my involvement in girl's sports. Pure love. And what could pos- sibly be a better motive? Part of the tragedy of American life is that a price tag destroys this spontaneity in many of men's sports. I tend to think, therefore, that I am far richer. TON I VALLEE KAREN WILLIAMS
