L to R: TREASURER, Steve Goldberg, PRESIDENT, Mike Cantor, ADVISOR, Mr. Sella, VICE PRESIDENT, Carey Pack, SECRETARY, Pat McElroy This year's General Organization has had its share of success and failures. The G.O. has instituted a new policy this year pertaining to GO. cards. Now, along with the usual discounts, a G.O. cardholder can get discounts at many of the local stores in the area. Due to this new innovation G.O. card sales jumped to over 850, an improvement of over 300 the previous year. An old tradition was restored when the G.O. received permission to have a bonfire before the first football game, it proved to be a huge success. Also, this year's officers tried to get more student involvement in various matters. As a result they had a student involvement meeting and formed committees to look into the topics of 11 student lounge 21 substitute teachers 31 exemption from finals for underclassmen. Much progress has been made with the number one project, the student lounge. The lounge is now a definite possibility in the near future, Our gratitude extends to Mr. Selle, who has given up much of his time in working with the G.O. and its officers. ,F 'P.. 'x

National Honor Society In order to obtain membership in the National Honor Society, a student must display exceptional qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, and service, which comprise an integral and vital part of Massapequa High School. Guided by their advisors, Mrs. Burkhardt and Mr. O'Connell, the National Honor Society adopted a new constitution in an effort to reinforce the objectives of their organization. . 150
