This yearis fine team has surpassed the previous teams in their won-lost record and in the attendance received at the matches. Excellent records were turned in by Richard Wfarnke, Ronald Salzman, Pete Hausrath, and Joe lngarozza. Jeff Enck, Joe Ciminna, Mike Ang- streich, and George Young also contributed greatly to the success of the team. Elder HE Varsity Soccer Squad finished its fourth sea- son with the best record a Massapequa team has produced thus far. The hooters, under the tutorage of Coach Jerry Seely, Wound up with a 9-5 record, which gave them an undisputed hold on second place. The season was successful in other ways and included many firsts as Well. The first player in Nl. H. S. history to place on the South Shore All- Scholastic Squad was leftwing Jack Bulls. Other firsts were the successive defeats of Baldwin 4-2 and 7-4, and the trampling of Sewanhaka 9-5. Standout players were goalies, Doug: Claysher and Nick Vllynkoopg fullback., John Sullivan: half- hack, Henry Ousteckyg and forwards, Gregor Gies- mann, Bob Yvernersbach and Marty Maltese. The Junior Varsity Squad, under the guidance of Mr. Elder, achieved a commendable record. Turning in continuously fine performances were goalie, Nick Bambino: halfback, Phil Newman, and forwards, George Yates, Joe Lowery, and George Soerensen.
