Taylor .1 , 2 :NNE S, ., ,, LL interested students are encouraged to join the Boat Club. During the winter months members discuss safety rules of the water naviga- tion techniques, and boat care. In addition, they learn statistics concerning water hazards and ele- mentary first aid. This spring the sailors enjoyed their cruise to Bellport and the sailing of their newly constructed boat. AUTO CLUB Adrimr ,, ., ......... ,Mr. Schriever -1 YY, V :as- N AFETY first is the main goal of the Auto Club. The members develop a more mature outlook on driving based on a better understand- ing of the mechanical aspect of automobiles. This club gives its members the pleasure and useful experience to be derived from working with cars. The auto shop of the Industrial Arts depart- ment is at the disposal of club members who use its facilities to repair and maintain their cars.

Massapequa High has its own radio station which club members use to communicate with other amateurs. When they are not operating over the airways, club members learn more radio theory and construction. HE Industrial Arts Club had no formal meet- ings, but the department opened its doors to the many boys who wanted to work on special projects which required department equipment. Under the watchful eyes of the instructors, the boys completed many excellent projects. Interest rose high as the members shared experiences and successful methods of operation.

The boys were glad to do this work since it gave them valuable experience and further op- portunity for a practical application of their printing knowledge. Any need for competent printing work is welcomed by these young Hlfranklinsf' john Carter joe Amadio Richard Nelson john Coughlin Mr. Hayden ATIENCE and hard work are two of the main requisites for membership in the Massa- pequa Model Club. This year the enthusiastic members turned out many scale models of various vehicles of transportation. Their greatest pleasure came fr n working together and sharing expe- riences u d techniques.
