At the meetings the girls listened to nurses from local hospitals, saw films, and experimented with fundamental nursing techniques. They carried out their humanitarian objectives by conducting the March of Dimes Drive and con- structing Christmas dolls for invalid and orphaned children. They practice the skills of cooking, serving, and interior decorating. Films and guest-speakers are featured at the meetings. This year the members put their culinary art to practical use when they served at a Nassau Council of English Teachers meeting, and at a mother-daughter tea.

Not only do they become proticient in the use of adding machines and typewriters, but they learn other means to business success. Special films and guest speakers, as well as a yearly trip to an elementary school for observation, help acquaint members with problems of education in general and those of teachers in particular. This year our local F. T. A. played host, in November, to the Long Island Future Educators and sent a delegate, in May, to the New York State Convention.

Massapequa High has its own radio station which club members use to communicate with other amateurs. When they are not operating over the airways, club members learn more radio theory and construction. HE Industrial Arts Club had no formal meet- ings, but the department opened its doors to the many boys who wanted to work on special projects which required department equipment. Under the watchful eyes of the instructors, the boys completed many excellent projects. Interest rose high as the members shared experiences and successful methods of operation.
