While they were engaged primarily in their own proiects, the members offered a great deal of valuable assistance to the chemistry instruc- tors by setting up demonstrations and by main- taining equipment. HE Biology Club was organized to foster a keener interest in biological science through research by offering students the opportunity to gain specialized techniques through working with both living and preserved specimens. Among the club's projects were the prepara- tion of microscopic cultures and slides. Each student also dissected a rodent and prepared a skeleton mount which became part of the science department's demonstration material.

HE Science Honor Club is a newcomer at Massapequa High. lt was formed to give Junior High students, who are outstanding in science, an opportunity to perform laboratory experiments not included in daily class schedule. Members of the Science Honor Club also had the opportunity to enter various science contests and to work for a Science Achievement Award. M President , ,, ,,,. , ..,.,. LaGiusa SCIENCE SERVICE CLUB The lab-first, last, and always! ROVIDING assistance to teachers in the Science Department is the duty of the stu- dents serving on the Science Service Squad. Some members organize the science prep room so that materials are readily available to teach- ers for demonstration. Other members dispense needed chemicals and keep the equipment in good working condition. A student clerical staff has set up an inventory check-system to complete the club's efficient service to the department.

TUDENTS interested in photography-from novice to expert-ioined the photography club in order to exchange ideas and to learn more about the art of taking good pictures. They discussed photographic problems of all kinds. lf you want information on what camera to buy and how to care for it once it is yours, it you are interested in taking better photographs and in improving the quality of your prints, this is the club to ioin! A L... Lights! Camera! Action! HE Audio-Visual Squad deserves a grateful thank-you from all of us here at Massa- pequa High. Students from this organization pushed movie proiectors and screens all over our building so that we could have the benefit of these devices in our classes. They are also to be complimented on their ob- servance of a strict time schedule and their ability to maintain temperamental equipment.
