RENCH CLUB members do, so much so that they have devoted their meetings to im- proving their conversational French and to learn- ing more about la belle France. In the pursuit of their aims they have also taken enviable trips to New York City. These have included the inspection of a French trans- Atlantic liner and dining at a French restaurant. The members of the club participated in organizing a German Christmas display in the Massapequa Public Library. They thoroughly enioyed their trip to a German theater. Dinner in a German Hof- brauhaus was the highlight of the year's ac- tivities.

The Gallic wars and Cicero's. orations are eagerly replaced by myths, Latin skits, and games. The climax of the year was the banquet in May. Dressed in togas, attended and entertained by freshman slaves, these latter-day Romans re- clined at tables to feast ab ovo usque ad mala to the music of the lyre. SPANISH CLUB President ....., ., lrene Shapiro Vice-President ,,,,,,,,,, David Abel Secretary .,,,, Linda LeMaire Treasurer ..,... ,,,Su5qn Weiss Advisor ,, ..,,..,, Mr. McKee ENORES and Seioritas who study Spanish met once a month after school in order to learn more about the culture of our Latin Amer- ican neighbors. South of the border music and dancing was particularly enioyed by every- one. A trip to a Spanish movie and restaurant were among the Spanish Club's activities, but the biggest event was participation in the Pan American Day Celebration, at which skits, dances, and songs were presented. HE Science Honor Club is a newcomer at Massapequa High. lt was formed to give Junior High students, who are outstanding in science, an opportunity to perform laboratory experiments not included in daily class schedule. Members of the Science Honor Club also had the opportunity to enter various science contests and to work for a Science Achievement Award. M President , ,, ,,,. , ..,.,. LaGiusa SCIENCE SERVICE CLUB The lab-first, last, and always! ROVIDING assistance to teachers in the Science Department is the duty of the stu- dents serving on the Science Service Squad. Some members organize the science prep room so that materials are readily available to teach- ers for demonstration. Other members dispense needed chemicals and keep the equipment in good working condition. A student clerical staff has set up an inventory check-system to complete the club's efficient service to the department.
