Not only did the team complete an undefeated season, but it also gained further plaudits by placing first at the annual Playday. Intramural playofTs closed the rewarding season. Although the seniors were the victors, the sophs proved themselves to be formidable ad' versaries. The highlight for the year was the unforgettable first annual Girls Sports Night presented in the spring, a fitting climax to a most successful year. HE seniors and the sophs were unsurpassed on the court this year and finished their season by winning the South Shore Playday held by the Long Island Girl's Athletic Association. The development of winning teams on the volleyball courts follows a pattern that is an old story in every phase of Girls Sports. The girls learn the rudiments of the sport, invest much time, eFfort, and patience in perfecting indi- vidual techniques, and finally develop the all important ability of playing the game together.
