s The Veterans Club is a social and service organization for cadets who are Veterans of our Armed Forces. Members include former Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, and Coastguardsmen. This dynamic group volunteers time and man power to advance Academy related service projects such as; donations to charities, displaying of the Prisoner of War Flag along with the colors, and the sponsoring of lectures concerning and of interest to Veterans, as well as hold- ing regular social events for its members.

The Society of Na al Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) is an internationalK ' recognized non-profit, technical, professional Society of individnal nienihers serx ing the maritime and offshore industry and its supphers. SNAME is dedicated to advancing the jart, science and practice of naval architecture, shipbuilding and marine engineer ing, encouraging the exchange and recording of information, sponsoring applied research, offering career guidance and supporting education, and enhancing the professional status and integrity of its membership. Activities this year included a trip to New York City to attend the National SNAME exposition of the new and up-and-coming modern advances in the Maritime field. The student section at Mass Maritime Academy also started the Annual North East Student section dinner meeting which included participation by Maine Maritime, Kings Point, M.I.T. , and Coast Chiard. Speaker for that evening was Captain Robert Bowen, Master of the Research Vessel Knorr, which found the wreck of the Titanic. Overall, the year was very exciting for all involved, and will continue to be so in upcoming years.
