GREEN ffl The 1965 staff of the Gfeeryears has worked extremely hard in compiling a book of the many fond memories which you, the student body, have enjoyed during your years at MBCC. This organization has encountered numerous problems and has worked for many long and seemingly never-ending hours in order to make this edition a memora- ble one for all. It is because of the staff's vast interest and devotion in their work that they feel that the 1965 quality and in its size. There were many days when thought it impossible to ever complete this book, but as the candles burned out and the sun' began to shine, we always managed to meet our deadlines on time. The knowledge and experience which one gains by taking part in producing this edition of the Greenyears has improved both in its both the editor and the staff grew despondent and publication are a rewarding and satisfying accomplishment. We, the staff, would like to thank each and every individual who contributed to the Greenyears and helped make it a memorable edition. Faculgf Advisor Professor Rhine y . t X by X x ii .1

STUDENT c The Student Council, whose members are elected by the students, is concerned with the welfare and entertainment of students and with relationships between the students and the college. The Council provides for social, cultural, athletic and academic activities through clubs, teams, dances, teas, and many other spe- cial activities, and allocates financial support for such activities and occasions. The Council tries to encourage initiative and leadership and provide the means for it to be effective. The Student Council is a local illustration of the democratic process at work. Prospective members present themselves to the student body in a pre-election campaign, students vote by secret ballot, the results are announced as the oflice holders. This duly elected body then has responsibility for providing leadership and direction for student life and assuring support for approved activities. f Ideally, the Council hopes that each student will participate in the activities which are provided and that he will find them a cherished part of his college life.
