Smith, Manager Ewart, Coach Ambrose. BASKETBALL The Gunners played only two exhibition games this season and lost both of them to the Jefferson Rockets. M. H. S. competed in Section ll along with the following teams: North Union, South Union, German, Georges, Redstone and Point Marion. Masontown was winless at the close of the '52-'53 season. The Gunners were handicapped again this year because of the lack of a gym. They held their practice sessions and played their home games in the gym at All Saints High School. Our varsity coach, in his second year here at M. H. S., was Blaine Gjurich. The J.V. coach was Bob Ambrose.
