Eighth, and Ninth Grade girls have helped pack fifty boxes for overseas, worked on wash cloths for the hospitals, and sponsored the junior Red Cross enrollment. To seek, to find, to show, is the Tri-Hi-Y motto. This organization, consisting of twenty-one girls, has excellently followed these ideals The officers are: President, Shirley Lytle, Vice-President, Gerry Croftcheck, Secretary, Gloria Venturinig Treasurer, Carol Honsaker. The journalism Club, with a membership of 28, is responsible for the monthly appearance of the M.H.S. Commentator which is in its nineteenth year of publication. The school paper was awarded fourth place in Mimeographed Senior High Newspapers among schools with an enrollment between 251 - 500, by the Pennsylvania School Press Association at its 25th Anni- versary Convention held at Allentown, Pa., on November 10th and 11th, 1950. The Certificate of Award is on display in the home room of Edith Nlagalotti, adviser of the school paper. janet Frankhouser is the Editor-in-Chief as well as the Art Editor of the present staff of the M.H.S. FLNNE u In the Recreation Club, the 25 boys from Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Grades enjoy stunts and tumbling. Under the guidance of Mrs. Nieman, they build healthy bodies, and develop courage and initiative while learning tumbling. Stunts encourage the individual to make the most of his ability.
