HOCI EY The hockey team of 1953-1954 did very well and worked very hard. The high point scorer for the season was Ruby Shepherd with five goalsg Marvie Bloodworth was second with four points. The following girls won sweaters: Phyllis Jarvis. Dottie Jarvis, Kay Jarvis. Mar- cella Dickinson, and Janice Jackson. Manager. Shirley Southard. who won a sweater last year for managing. won a letter this year for playing goalie. Seven other girls won stripes. The girls received their sweaters and stripes at the Basketball and Hockey Banquet. Mrs. Gertrude Thomas Parker was our coach. Janice Jackson. Reporter. FIRST ELEVEN BACK Row. THF HARTS John Hurt Grand Jumor Deacon APPRECIATIO Love of humanity has ever inspired mankind to noble deeds' It is that love of humanity that has inspired men and women llke Mr and Mrs John H Hart to do so mam fme things for our Home We xush to recognize the vxork of the Harts and the cooperation of the people of the Elizabethtown area Then purpose is noble and the determination that Mr Halt puts into each enterprise IS the fme quality which leads him to success In this instance M1 and Mrs Hart stand as the representatives of the mam Masons and Eastern Stats throughout the state of Kentucky who have made possible bx then gifts the sixth 'md last edition of The Light To have won the apploxal of the men and women like Mr and Mrs Hart and that of the ftlends thex leplesent has been our purpose throughout the pages of this book A good education has been said to be the best legacy we can leave to our children The pictures and the articles of this book reveal the result of the lnvest ment made by the Masons of Kentucky and we trust that our children will stand out among the democratic leaders of tomorrow. So, with the deepest of gratitude I thank those who have aided in the publica- tion of the book and those members of the Masonic Fraternity vsho have been so generous.
